Optical film refers to one or more s of dielectric films or l films or a combination of these two films that are plated or coated on optical components or independent substrates to change the transmission characteristics of light waves, including light transmission, reflection, absorption, scattering,
polarization and phase changes. Through appropriate design, the transmittance and reflectivity of the component surfaces in different wavebands
can be modulated, and the light of different polarization planes can also have different characteristics.
Since optical film products are usually used in composites and are mainly used in the display field, optical films can be roughly divided into two
categories:optical films for liquid crystal panels and optical films for backlight modules.
According to the different characteristics of optical films, optical films are mainly divided into reflective films, anti-reflection films, dichroic films, filter films, brightness-enhancing films, diffusion films and polarizers etc.
Commonly used coating methods include vacuum coating and chemical coating, such as ion beam sputtering, plasma sputtering, atomic deposition and chemical vapor deposition.
The application fields of optical film products mainly include electronics and semiconductors, lighting fields, optical instruments, aerospace, national defense, telecommunications, health care, solar energy and automobiles etc.
With the development of 5G technology and Internet of Things technology, new smart hardware products such as wearable products and home
residences are developing rapidly. The product range of optical film products continues to extend, and new application scenarios continue to enrich,
which will also drive the market demand for display optical films.
